New Mobile App for Alpha-Stim is Now Available

Chances are, you use your phone for much more than just making calls. You can download an app for just about anything, from driving directions to weather reports to finding lost car keys or errant dogs. You can also use your phone to monitor and track various aspects of your health, from the quality of your sleep to the number of steps you walk each day to the foods you’ve eaten.

It is only fitting, then, that there should be an app to accompany Alpha-Stim®, a handheld medical device proven to treat insomnia and pain. More than 100 clinical research studies have demonstrated the effectiveness of Alpha-Stim – but sometimes you want a more personalized set of data, and to better understand whether the treatment is working for you and meeting your unique needs. The Alpha-Stim app does just that: it allows you to track your progress and compare your results not only against yourself, but against others with similar indications as well.

In the app’s Progress Log, you can record your pre-treatment discomfort level for pain and insomnia, and up to 2 custom indications. The app will guide you through other fields, including treatment duration, frequency, and time of day. You will be able to instantly view your progress with a variety of graphs, and can compare your results against your own previous sessions as well as to other (anonymous) users with the same indications.

With pain and insomnia, finding relief can sometimes feel like an uphill battle. With persistent conditions such as chronic pain, we can sometimes lose sight of the minor improvements that happen from day to day. The Progress Log can be a strong motivator to comply with treatments, and a visual reminder of how far you have come since beginning your journey to relief.

Users can easily track their progress with the graphs feature of the Alpha-Stim app

Another key feature of the Alpha-Stim App is the built-in User Manual and treatment strategies for the Alpha-Stim M Smart Probes. All of the information you could possibly need is right at your fingertips, whenever you need it. But of course, our dedicated Clinical Support Team is still here for you, as well!

To ensure the highest quality and functionality of the app, Electromedical Products International, Inc. (the maker of Alpha-Stim) turned to two groups to providing testing, evaluation and feedback: teachers and first responders in Mineral Wells, TX (home of EPI world headquarters) and police officers in Dayton, OH. The men and women in these departments volunteered for a study that sought to determine the effectiveness of Alpha-Stim. To capture their results, the officers recorded their pre- and post-treatment discomfort levels in the app and provided feedback on both their own progress and the quality of the app. Their valuable input helped guide the development and refinement of a truly user-friendly application. Stay tuned for a complete study report, coming soon!

Alpha-Stim has been at the forefront of medical technology since phones were still attached to walls and road maps still had a place in our cars’ glove compartments. We’re proud to offer a new app to keep in step with evolution of telephones – but the technology that has made Alpha-Stim so effective for so long remains the same.

If you currently use Alpha-Stim, head to your app store today to download the free app and get started tracking your progress. We think you’ll love it! If you do not already have an Alpha-Stim of your own, click here to get started.
